We're hiring for a Junior / Mid level SQL Developer to join a growing technology team delivering data-driven solutions within a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex data, solving technical problems, and seeing their work move through build, test and deployment. It offers a great blend of hands-on technical work, structured delivery, and real-world impact.
You'll be part of a collaborative team, helping to configure and deliver solutions aligned to business requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accuracy and performance.
What you'll be doing
- Configuring and developing solutions based on agreed designs and requirements
- Working with data to query, manipulate and optimise performance
- Supporting build activities alongside more senior developers or build leads
- Carrying out unit testing and end-to-end testing
- Investigating and resolving defects identified during testing phases
- Supporting release preparation and deployment activities
- Contributing to peer reviews and maintaining high delivery standards
This is a role where you'll get exposure across the full lifecycle, not just isolated development tasks.
What we're looking for
- Good understanding of SQL (data querying, manipulation, and ideally performance optimisation)
- Experience working in a structured development or implementation environment
- Exposure to testing, defect management, and release processes
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Ability to work from requirements and translate them into working solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS
- Background in FinTech, financial services, or SaaS
- Experience working with configurable or low-code platforms
What's on offer
- Salary up to £43,500
- Hybrid working model (2 days in office, 3 from home)
- Structured development environment with clear progression opportunities
- Exposure to complex, real-world data challenges
- Collaborative team culture with strong technical support
