As Group IT Director, you won’t be fighting fires or rebuilding from scratch. You’ll be taking an already solid environment and elevating it, driving structure, maturity, innovation and a leadership culture that brings people with you. You’ll shape strategy, influence decisions at the highest level, and guide a talented team through a period of meaningful transformation, spanning ERP uplift, service quality, security, data, automation and AI. This is a role where technology genuinely powers the next stage of growth, and you’ll be the leader bringing all the pieces together.
About You:
- You’re a proven IT leader who understands how to run and evolve technology in multi-site, structured, operationally complex environments.
- You thrive where expectations are high and outcomes matter.
- You bring a balance of:
- strategic thinking and practical delivery
- strong governance and a growth mindset
- people, leadership and technical depth
- operational discipline and innovation instinct
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, logistics, life sciences, distribution or other process-driven environments would be highly beneficial, but what really matters is your ability to bring structure, foresight and leadership to a complex, fast-moving organisation.
The Tech Stack You’ll Lead (Modern, Scalable & Ready to Evolve)
You’ll inherit a technology environment that’s already in good shape, cloud-first, secure and designed for scale, but with real opportunity to scale, standardise and innovate.
- Core Platforms & Systems
- Cloud-first environment built around Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365
- Multi-site networks
- ERP estate based around Dynamics 365 / Business Central (with scope for optimisation, process improvement and stronger data governance)
- A blend of COTS platforms and proprietary systems, requiring a structured API strategy, integration governance and repeatable playbooks
- Modern endpoint management, identity and security aligned to enterprise standards
- Significant appetite to shift from manual reporting to data warehousing, dashboards and analytics
- Strong opportunity to build a data platform that supports predictive, real-time and strategic decision-making
- Power BI / Fabric-aligned direction (though flexible depending on your expertise)
- Early initiatives already underway
- Appetite for applied AI, intelligent automation and low-friction digital improvements across the organisation
- Cyber Essentials Plus is in place
- ISO-aligned frameworks ready to be strengthened
- Need for someone who can elevate maturity, risk management, audit readiness and documentation for key tenders
This is a modern, flexible environment where you can truly shape best practice and long-term capability.
Why This Role Will Excite You:
- You’ll walk into a structured roadmap, a strong team, and a solid stack, but you’ll have real influence over the shape of what comes next.
- You’ll build maturity through ITIL, SLAs and service catalogue uplift.
- You’ll improve stability and integration across ERP and systems.
- You’ll unlock visibility through BI and data engineering.
- You’ll take emerging AI use cases and turn them into genuine value.
- You’ll modernise governance and security as the organisation grows.
- And you’ll develop a team that wants leadership, coaching and confidence.
