Energy Markets (EM) is the commercial heart of the client Group, securing value for client's asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets as we move towards our vision of being a leading energy company in a net zero world. EM plays a critical role as the asset optimiser, route to market and risk management function for all client's Business Units (Wind, Hydro, Low Carbon Thermal, Distributed Energy and Customer portfolios). EM enables client to focus its expertise and capabilities in energy markets (including Trading, Risk Management, Energy Economics and Advanced Analytics) in one centre of excellence and, with these enhanced capabilities, support value creation and decision-making across the client Group.
As a Business / Product Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving successful delivery of products within client. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, utilizing agile methodologies to ensure delivery. Experience in leading analysis engagements, capturing requirements in the most appropriate format(s) and translating business needs to actionable plans by a variety of methods including via sprint planning sessions across a diverse range of work ranging from business functional system changes to IT driven obsolescence upgrades.
Experience of Agile software development practices including Scrum and Kanban frameworks and running sprint planning, daily stand ups, retrospectives and show and tells utilising common tools like Azure DevOps / Jira / Confluence. Outstanding coordination abilities, with a track record of collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders in both business and technical domains.
Professional knowledge of the energy sector, including key market trends and business drivers. Alongside the core Business / Product Analysis skill set listed above, this engagement will require the successful candidate to have experience of working on system migrations to the cloud and be able to demonstrate experience of conducting in-depth analysis to fully understand the overall architecture, integration points and data flows of systems.
