The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Service Lead to take ownership of the design, mobilisation, implementation, and stabilisation of Finance and Procurement services within a large-scale transformation programme. This is a critical leadership role for someone who understands the realities of high-volume finance operations and has successfully delivered service transitions, operating model changes, or large-scale mobilisation programmes. You'll act as the bridge between operational teams, technology functions, stakeholders, and delivery partners, ensuring Finance and Procurement services are designed effectively, implemented successfully, and fully embedded into live operations. This is not a purely project-focused position, nor is it a technical systems role. We're looking for someone who can combine operational finance expertise with transformation experience, confidently moving between service design, operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, governance, issue resolution, and post-go-live support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end mobilisation and implementation of Finance and Procurement services.
  • Design and embed scalable operating models capable of supporting high-volume transactional environments.
  • Translate business, operational, system, and client requirements into practical service solutions.
  • Ensure finance processes, controls, governance frameworks, operating procedures, and service standards are effective and fit for purpose.
  • Work closely with operational, technology, training, testing, transition, finance, and procurement teams to ensure successful service readiness.
  • Support cutover planning, go-live activities, and hypercare periods, ensuring operational stability and service continuity.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, risks, and service issues during implementation and early-life support.
  • Provide practical leadership and decision-making throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Build credibility with senior stakeholders through clear communication, problem-solving, and delivery expertise.
  • Develop and implement service blueprints, process maps, operating manuals, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Establish robust operational governance and reporting structures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure lessons learned are embedded into future operating practices.
  • Balance competing priorities across business, operational, commercial, and technology workstreams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll be a hands-on finance operations professional who has worked within complex service environments and understands how to build, transition, and stabilise finance functions at scale. You'll bring a combination of operational leadership, transformation experience, and strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and influence decision-making across multiple teams.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience leading Finance and Procurement operations within shared services, outsourcing, BPO, SSC, or large-scale back-office environments.
  • Proven track record delivering service mobilisation, transition, transformation, or operational readiness programmes.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes including controls, reconciliations, exception management, governance, risk management, and service delivery frameworks.
  • Experience designing and implementing operating models and service delivery structures.
  • Ability to work effectively across complex stakeholder groups including operational leaders, clients, technology teams, third-party suppliers, and senior executives.
  • Experience developing service documentation, process maps, operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance risk, quality, delivery timelines, and cost considerations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced and ambiguous environments where priorities can change quickly.

Desirable Experience

  • Oracle Fusion or Oracle ERP experience.
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments.
  • Public sector or government transformation experience.
  • Experience working alongside systems integrators, ERP implementation partners, or complex multi-vendor delivery models.
  • Exposure to large-scale finance transformation programmes.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a significant transformation programme, shaping how Finance and Procurement services are delivered within a large and complex organisation. You'll have the chance to influence strategic decision-making, work alongside senior stakeholders, and leave a lasting impact on a high-profile programme. If you're an experienced finance operations leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, driving operational excellence, and delivering change at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
