Illumio SME/ Lead Engineer- Insurance
We are currently recruiting for an Illumio SME/ Lead Engineer with strong cloud networking experience to join one of our Insurance clients on a 6-month contract.

Overall Requirements
- Serve as a hands-on engineering resource with deep Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Illumio, including experience designing and deploying solutions within Azure at enterprise scale .
- Demonstrate the ability to proactively identify and resolve technical blockers as they arise, driving issues through to resolution with minimal escalation.
- Work collaboratively as part of the internal Illumio deployment team , contributing to design decisions, implementation, and knowledge sharing.
- Possess strong experience in documenting and defining operational processes, procedures, and workflows , ensuring repeatability and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Operate in the capacity of a Lead Engineer , providing technical direction, oversight, and guidance across the deployment lifecycle.
- Maintain flexibility in working hours where required to support project milestones and global stakeholder engagement.
Cloud & Networking Expertise (Critical Requirement):
- Bring a strong cloud engineering and cloud networking foundation independent of Illumio , with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues across Azure environments.
- Demonstrate experience working with native Azure networking constructs (e.g., VNets, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints, Load Balancers) and integrating these effectively alongside Illumio.
- Clearly understand that the role extends beyond simple deployment of the Illumio VEN agent on IaaS — the expectation is to design and implement solutions leveraging cloud-native controls and architectures (such as NSGs) , ensuring tight integration with Azure networking and security capabilities.
- Confidently challenge and refine deployment approaches to ensure alignment with enterprise-scale cloud architecture principles , rather than relying on vendor-default or agent-centric models.
