We are seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to strengthen and transform the operational framework of our Risk Financing function. This is a high-impact role focused on driving operational excellence, process optimisation, innovation, and data-driven decision-making across the end-to-end reinsurance lifecycle.

Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Claims, Actuarial, Technology, Data, Brokers, and Reinsurers, you will play a pivotal role in improving efficiency, transparency, governance, and operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Operational Excellence
    • Own, maintain, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the treaty lifecycle.
    • Ensure processes are well-documented, scalable, audit-ready, and consistently applied.
    • Act as the operational lead for process governance, controls, and clarity.
  • Process Optimisation & Transformation
    • Identify inefficiencies, duplication, and operational bottlenecks.
    • Design and implement streamlined processes that enhance efficiency and reduce complexity.
    • Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
    • Partner with Technology and Data teams to drive automation and simplification initiatives.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
    • Introduce innovative tools, dashboards, and ways of working.
    • Embed operational KPIs and performance metrics into daily management practices.
    • Translate strategic objectives into practical operational enhancements.
  • Data & Insights
    • Improve data quality, governance, and usability across reinsurance systems.
    • Support management and executive reporting through meaningful operational insights.
    • Leverage data to improve decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build strong relationships across multiple business functions.
    • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and ensure effective collaboration.
    • Drive alignment on priorities, ownership, and delivery timelines.
  • Governance & Risk Management
    • Identify and mitigate operational risks within Risk Financing processes.
    • Support audits, reviews, and governance forums with clear documentation and insights.
    • Ensure appropriate controls and regulatory standards are maintained.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience in business operations, operational management, transformation, or process improvement within insurance or reinsurance.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance structures and end-to-end lifecycle operations.
  • Proven expertise in operational excellence, process optimisation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience with reinsurance systems, reporting platforms, and operational data.
  • Advanced Power BI skills, including dashboard development and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, or governance activities.
  • Change management and transformation delivery experience would be advantageous.
