We’re looking for an experienced Implementation Consultant (Data) to join a specialist pensions data team, working on the delivery of complex client implementation and transition projects. This role sits within a wider pensions department made up of multiple specialist teams. Your focus will be on the data phase of implementation, taking ownership of pensions data from receipt through to successful migration and system configuration.
You’ll work with pensions data in multiple formats, analysing, cleansing, mapping, and transforming it into formats required by internal pension systems. Importantly, this is a lead-level role, with responsibility for guiding delivery, ensuring data quality, and supporting junior team members.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and deliver pensions data implementation projects end-to-end
- Receive and analyse pensions data from clients in varied formats
- Use Excel and SQL extensively to query, validate, manipulate, and analyse data
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues, and resolve them effectively
- Map data from source formats into target system schemas
- Work with data dictionaries and pension system structures
- Own complex or unusual data processes and troubleshoot technical issues
- Act as a subject matter expert within the data team, reviewing and checking others’ work.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Strong experience in a directly comparable pensions data role
- Proven lead-level experience delivering end-to-end data implementations or migrations
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data validation; macros desirable)
- Strong SQL skills for querying and analysing data
- Solid understanding of databases and data structures
- Hands-on experience with data mapping, data manipulation, and data validation
- Strong pensions knowledge, including DB, DC, CARE and annuities
- Experience working with pension administration systems and member records
