Key Responsibilities & Skills

  • Management and support of Cisco switching infrastructure (Catalyst/ACI)
  • Configuration and support of Palo Alto firewalls (PAN-OS) – policies, NAT, VPN, threat prevention
  • Support of wireless networking solutions – Extreme Networks WiFi (configuration, optimisation, troubleshooting)
  • WAN/LAN technologies – SD-WAN, broadband, leased line
  • Structured cabling and infrastructure – Cat5e/Cat6/Fibre, patching, rack layout
  • Physical network deployment including switches, APs, firewalls and cabling
  • VoIP/Telephony networking basics (SIP, call routing)
  • Configuration management and automation (CLI, scripting e.g. Python or PowerShell desirable)
  • Firmware upgrades, patching and lifecycle management of network device
  • Working to SLAs and ITIL framework
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in live production environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across infrastructure and service team
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experience working across multiple sites and environments
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites (business insurance needed)
