My client are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled IT Support Engineer to join their growing team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality 1st & 2nd line support to colleagues across the business onsite and remote workers. You’ll work closely with the Infrastructure/Security team and Software Engineering colleagues to ensure smooth account management, secure access across IT systems, and effective tracking of IT assets. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1st/2nd line technical support for internal employees
  • Provision and configure laptops for new starters, working closely with HR to support onboarding.
  • Log, track, and manage support requests in line with SLA targets.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software asset records.
  • Provide comprehensive support across IT systems including system monitoring, account management, email admin, and domain services.
  • Ensure IT policies and procedures are consistently understood and adhered to across the business.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation: system diagrams, process flows, knowledge base articles, etc.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly service desk reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Team on new projects, upgrades, and service deployments.
  • Carry out any additional reasonable tasks required to support the business and IT function.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Strong working knowledge of M365 Admin, Office 365, IP-based telephony, and networking concepts.
  • Excellent understanding of Windows and MacOS environments, including core productivity applications.
  • Experience with Anti‑Virus and Drive Encryption tools—ideally ESET, with exposure to or interest in Microsoft Defender ATP.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, including acting as a point of escalation.

  • A collaborative mindset—comfortable sharing ideas, contributing to team initiatives, and supporting cross-functional groups.
  • Strong customer-service focus with the ability to build relationships and deliver support with empathy and clarity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to create clear, accessible training materials and guidance for users at all levels.
  • Knowledge of ITIL is an advantage, though not essential.
