Job Purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the successful migration of Network Services out of our On-Premise Data Centres into our strategic co-location “Hubs” within Equinix our co-location provider.

The Central Cloud Based Networking (CCBN) project is part of a multi-year Project to transform and simplify Client’s network landscape whilst improving resilience, performance, and flexibility to support future digital transformation demands.

Eventually it will enable the closure of Client's legacy On-premises datacentres, realising a reduction in Enterprise IT run costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining the business case and Project scope and ensuring the project remains aligned to its agreed objectives and budget.
  • Lead end-to-end project management of the migration of network services from On-Premise Data Centres into Equinix co-location hubs.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk logs, and status reports.
  • Coordinate activities across technical teams, SMEs, and business units.
  • Develop and maintain Project finances, including budget updates, invoice tracking and forecasting.
  • Work with Business Analysts to validate and manage requirements, dependencies, and change impacts.
  • Manage Partner engagement with Verizon and HCL, as required.
  • Support Service Enablement and User Adoption functions to manage the service transition planning and business readiness.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies throughout the migration process.
  • Report on progress to Senior stakeholders and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure governance, documentation, and project controls are in place and followed.

  • Personal Requirements
  • Experience migrating WAN, VPN, data-centre and network services into cloud-based environments, including Equinix Fabric and associated security controls.
  • Experience managing and delivering Data Centre / Cloud migration Projects, including migration planning, infrastructure assessment, application dependencies, network transformation, testing, cutover and post-migration support.
  • Experience working with outsourcing partners and third-party vendors.
  • Strong track record in end-to-end project delivery within medium to large organisations.
  • Eperience in developing and maintain Project finances and forecasting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including SMEs, business analysts, and technical teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in structured project environments (e. g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Tools & Methodologies
  • Proficiency in Project Management methodologies such as PRINCE, Agile.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Shibumi.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes.
  • Competence in producing project documentation and reports in MS Office.

Desirable

  • Exposure to ITIL environments and service management principles.
  • Experience in managing both technical and business change.
