A well-known insurance company is seeking an Assistant Catastrophe Analyst to join its Exposure Management team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career analyst looking to build a career within insurance, catastrophe modelling, risk analytics, or exposure management. Full training and support will be provided, making this an ideal role for candidates with strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in risk and data-driven decision-making.

As an Assistant Catastrophe Analyst, you will support the Exposure Management team in analysing, modelling, and maintaining exposure data used to assess insurance portfolio risk. You will work closely with Underwriters and other business stakeholders to provide valuable insights that support underwriting decisions, portfolio optimisation, regulatory reporting, and risk management activities. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience with catastrophe modelling tools, portfolio analytics, and insurance risk management within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Underwriters with exposure analysis, aggregation services, and portfolio reporting.
  • Use catastrophe modelling and aggregation tools to help assess potential losses and risk exposures.
  • Maintain and update policy and exposure data within modelling systems.
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve the quality and integrity of exposure information.
  • Work closely with offshore teams to resolve data and modelling queries.
  • Assist with exposure management projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Produce analytical outputs for internal reporting, capital modelling, reinsurance requirements, and regulatory submissions.
  • Support post-event loss analysis and portfolio roll-up processes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of management information and business reporting.

The Exposure Management team plays a critical role in supporting underwriting and risk management activities across the business. The team provides catastrophe modelling, portfolio analytics, exposure reporting, and risk insights that help drive informed business decisions and support regulatory obligations.
