Lorien\βs leading banking client is looking for a skilled API Automation Engineer with strong Java development experience to join our London-based team.
This is not a manual testing role or one focused on tools like SOAP UI β we need someone who can design and build robust test automation frameworks using Java and REST Assured, with a solid understanding of mocking and cloud environments (AWS ).
This role is based in London.
This role will be Via Umbrella.
Working in a Hybrid Model of 2 days a week on site.
Key Skills and Experience
- Design, develop, and maintain API test automation frameworks using Java and REST Assured
- Implement mocking strategies to simulate API responses and dependencies.
- Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to test strategy and architecture.
- Work in a BDD environment using Cucumber to define and execute test scenarios.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Java-based API test automation
- Hands-on expertise with REST Assured
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based testing environments
- Strong understanding of mocking tools and techniques
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks like Cucumber
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with contract testing tools (e.g., Pact)
