We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Project Team in Nigg who will work on our PFI contracted wastewater treatment sites around the Aberdeen area.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Qualification - an Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma
- Design Management - Experience as Electrical Designer in Design Team or Project Engineer on Project Delivery with knowledge in creating and managing documentation/drawings for electrical and instrumentation, control and automation projects
- Experience in MCC design or installation and commissioning
- Understanding DSEAR requirements and impact on project design
- Understanding of HAZOP, DSEAR, CDM, WIMES, British and European Standards
Responsibilities:
- Produce or Review Contractors Design Package
- Electrical Load Schedule
- Electrical Single Line Diagrams/Block Cable Diagrams
- Electrical Cable Sizing Calculations
- Motor Control Centre Specifications & Data sheets
- WIMES data sheets
- Control Philosophies
- Electrical Loop Termination Diagrams
- DSEAR Hazardous Area Assessments
- Electrical Installation Design (tray work/ducting/equipment installation arrangements)
- Panels & MCC Commissioning Plan & Schedule
CDM:
- Understanding CDM 2015 and ability to manage design risks throughout the entire project life cycle
AutoCAD:
- Expert in AutoCAD (2D) and ability to produce drawings from sketch and amend when needed
Planning:
- Use Microsoft Programme to create and maintain project plan (programme); understand the critical path/critical activities of each project
Other Skills:
- Highly competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Effective communication in both writing and verbally
- Understand H&S requirements for each specific project and familiar with CDM 2015
- Good Problem Solving Skills

- Water/Wastewater Treatment Knowledge & Experience
- Mechanical or Civils Engineering Knowledge
