Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Management and support of Cisco switching infrastructure (Catalyst/ACI)
- Configuration and support of Palo Alto firewalls (PAN-OS) – policies, NAT, VPN, threat prevention
- Support of wireless networking solutions – Extreme Networks WiFi (configuration, optimisation, troubleshooting)
- WAN/LAN technologies – SD-WAN, broadband, leased line
- Structured cabling and infrastructure – Cat5e/Cat6/Fibre, patching, rack layout
- Physical network deployment including switches, APs, firewalls and cabling
- VoIP/Telephony networking basics (SIP, call routing)
- Configuration management and automation (CLI, scripting e.g. Python or PowerShell desirable)
- Firmware upgrades, patching and lifecycle management of network device
- Working to SLAs and ITIL framework
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in live production environment
- Ability to work collaboratively across infrastructure and service team
- Excellent communication skills – ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Experience working across multiple sites and environments
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites (business insurance needed)
