The RoleAs a Lead or Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building and delivering high-quality software systems that balance performance, security and maintainability. Working closely with product, security and operational teams, you'll help shape technical solutions while contributing to a culture of engineering excellence. You'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and design through to deployment and operational support, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient and fit for purpose.

Designing and developing secure, scalable and maintainable software solutionsTranslating business requirements into robust technical designsContributing to software and system architecture decisionsBuilding and supporting high-performing CI/CD pipelines and engineering practicesApplying modern development standards, clean code principles and secure-by-design approachesSupporting testing, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborating with product managers, designers, security teams and engineers to deliver business outcomesContributing to the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities within software productsWhat We're Looking ForEssential ExperienceProven experience across the full software development lifecycleStrong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, API development and data modellingExperience developing clean, maintainable and testable codeStrong understanding of modern engineering practices and development standardsExperience working within highly regulated, complex or large-scale environmentsAbility to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience using AI tools within the software development processMinimum three years' commercial software engineering experienceDesirable ExperienceAI/ML engineering, MLOps, LLMOps or agentic workflow experienceExperience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesKnowledge of GitOps practices and modern deployment methodologiesExperience with secrets management technologies such as Vault or AWS Secrets ManagerPublic sector or large financial services experienceFor Lead-level candidates, experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teamsThe Ideal CandidateWe're looking for adaptable technologists with a passion for modern software engineering.
