Sector: ITReference: BBBH _ Software Developer in Test - 450 Outside IR35 Lorien is supporting a key public sector client in the recruitment of an experienced Software Developer in Test to join a specialist team helping deliver and evolve critical digital services. This role will focus on building and maintaining automated testing frameworks, supporting CI/CD processes, improving quality engineering practices and assuring the successful delivery of secure, high-quality software solutions across a complex stakeholder environment. Title: Software Developer in Test (SDET)Duration: Until March 31st 2028 (potential extensions)Location: Glasgow (Predominantly Remote with occasional travel to office)Rate: 450 per day Outside IR35Essential Skills, Competences, Experience and Relevant Qualifications* Significant experience working as a Software Developer in Test, Test Automation Engineer or SDET.* Strong experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.* Experience with Playwright and/or Selenium WebDriver test automation.* Strong Java and JavaScript development skills.* Experience using BDD tooling including Gherkin and Cucumber.* Experience building and maintaining automated tests within CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions.* Strong experience working within Linux environments.* Experience working in AWS-based environments.* Experience with MariaDB, Oracle, MySQL and/or AWS Aurora databases.* Experience writing and maintaining MySQL scripts.* Strong understanding of quality engineering best practices and test automation strategies.* Experience working collaboratively within Agile/SCRUM teams.* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Experience identifying risks, resolving technical issues and continuously improving testing processes.* Experience supporting releases and ensuring software quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
