A 4-month Contract | Hybrid, London
About the client
Our client is a leading global events, B2B information and specialist media business, operating hundreds of brands across more than 30 countries. Event technology sits at the heart of the organisation, giving customers and colleagues the digital tools that make preparing for, running and attending events simpler and more valuable.
The role
We're looking for an experienced Head of Delivery to lead the delivery function for the client's Event Technology product family on a 4-month interim basis. Reporting to the VP of Product Delivery, you'll oversee the delivery of a portfolio of customer-facing digital products across multiple business divisions, working closely with Product, Engineering and Architecture leaders, platform teams and third-party delivery partners. This is a pivotal role during a period of change, as the business beds in a new product-based technology operating model. You'll bring stability, structure and pace, making sure delivery is predictable, well governed and aligned to strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Translate business goals and product roadmaps into executable delivery plans for the product family, adjusting resources and focus as priorities shift.
- Provide oversight of all delivery initiatives, from strategic transformation and M&A-related change to risk and compliance work, continuous improvement and run activity (break-fix, technology upgrades).
- Provide programme leadership on key transformation initiatives where needed.
- Embed consistent governance frameworks, decision points and escalation routes.
- Monitor and report on delivery performance, managing risks, issues and cross-initiative dependencies.
- Own delivery budget and resource planning for the product family.
- Manage third-party suppliers in line with internal supplier management standards.
- Implement delivery frameworks, standards, metrics and KPIs, championing lean-agile ways of working.
- Lead and support the delivery team through organisational change, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, communicating progress, risks and outcomes clearly and translating technical concepts into business language.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience leading delivery teams and complex technology programmes across multiple departments or regions.
- Experience delivering customer-facing, greenfield technology products.
- Strong knowledge of agile delivery methodologies, including SAFe.
- Solid programme and portfolio management skills: planning, governance, prioritisation and balancing demand against capacity.
- Experience in resource planning and vendor management.
- A track record of leading teams through change and embedding delivery playbooks and metrics.
- Confident workshop facilitation and problem-solving, with the presence to engage executive stakeholders.
- Proficiency with agile and portfolio tooling (e.g. Jira), RAID logs and reporting dashboards.
Desirable
- PgMP or equivalent programme management certification.
- Experience with ITIL, SAFe and Six Sigma.
- Background in events, media or B2B digital products.
