Business Analyst – Investment Bank (Contract)

Location: London (Hybrid)

Contract Length: 6 months

Start Date: ASAP

Overview

We are working with a leading global investment bank seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a high‑performing front office technology and change team on a 6‑month contract. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, supporting critical trading and risk initiatives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with front office stakeholders (Trading, Structuring, Sales) to gather and document requirements
  • Translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical specifications
  • Partner with developers and data teams to deliver scalable solutions
  • Perform data analysis and validation using SQL and Python
  • Support Agile delivery using Jira (user stories, backlog grooming, sprint planning)
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements across trading platforms
  • Conduct UAT coordination and support implementation into production

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within an Investment Banking environment
  • Strong understanding of one or more asset classes, e.g.: Bonds / Fixed Income, Front Office Derivatives, FX (Foreign Exchange)
  • Hands‑on experience with Python (data analysis, scripting, automation)
  • SQL (data extraction, manipulation)
  • Jira (Agile delivery environment)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across business and technology teams
  • Experience working on front office or trading‑related projects

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of risk systems or regulatory projects
  • Experience with data modelling or reporting tools
  • Exposure to cloud or modern data platforms
