About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Section Manager to join a major distribution operation in Avonmouth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a maintenance leader to take ownership of a critical function within a complex and fast-paced logistics environment.
You will be responsible for leading a team of engineering technicians and tradespeople, ensuring that all building and site assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the maintenance business plan across your area of responsibility.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, specialist contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Drive a culture of high performance, accountability, customer service, and safety.
- Ensure all compliance, safety, and assurance requirements are met to maintain operational continuity and minimise risk.
- Conduct compliance audits across maintenance activities and contractor works.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineering technicians and skilled tradespeople.
- Support budget management, revenue expenditure control, and capital planning activities.
- Oversee the delivery of all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), statutory maintenance activities, and remedial works.
- Ensure maintenance projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction programmes across the site.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Significant experience within a distribution, logistics, industrial, or retail maintenance environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing multi-skilled maintenance teams.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Legionella, LOLER, PUWER, Fire Safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing audits, compliance programmes, and maintenance governance.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations, Building Management Systems (BMS), and CAFM platforms.
- A recognised electrical qualification as a time-served Electrician or an equivalent HVAC qualification.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent site safety certification.
- Strong analytical, reporting, procurement, and supplier management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
