Our client, an international logistics provider with offices all around the country, currently has an opportunity at their Essex office based just outside of Basildon for a European Export Operator. The role will be dealing with European and UK road freight exports. You will be working within a large export department, being part of a wider team within the office handling European groupage services.

Purpose of the role: To manage the European groupage road freight operations from point of collection to final delivery.

Duties will include:

  • Arranging movement of freight from origin to final destination, both international and within the UK.
  • Liaising with customers, overseas partners, and suppliers.
  • Calculating costs for customers.
  • Working out charges.
  • Updating the system.
  • Keeping customers updated with regards to their deliveries.

To be successful in the role, you will need to have a good understanding of European road freight operations with good customer service skills. You will be able to work in a team but also be self-sufficient and be confident with your own workload.

Monday to Friday - 9am-5pm.

Requirements:

  • Experience within European road freight operations.
  • Understanding of taxable kilos.
  • Experience with EU customs paperwork.
  • Previous experience of working within a freight forwarder.

Competitive salary £35k negotiable depending on experience.
