Our clients have established themselves within the freight forwarding industry as one of the leaders within their sector. They provide door to door logistic solutions for their customers Worldwide via Air, Road and Sea freight. Due to growth and expansion, they are now looking for an export operator to manage one of their key accounts within the ocean freight department for their office based in Tilbury. The role offers a good opportunity for someone wo is ambitious with Export experience to work within a company that can offer good potential for growth and expansion and potential for promotion.
Purpose of the role:
The main purpose of the role is to successfully manage ocean freight exports for their customers export shipments across the globe. You will be dealing with ocean freight export shipments from point of booking to final delivery
Duties will include:
- Taking instructions from the customer with regards to their export booking.
- Contacting shipping lines to book the export container shipment.
- Liaison with 3rd party hauliers to book transport for collection.
- Liaise with overseas agents regarding the export container shipment.
- Organising with the customer with regards to relevant documentation and paperwork to include Bills of lading, Certificate of origin and Health Certificates.
- Obtain export customs paperwork and prior export customs entries.
- Monitor shipments through to final delivery whilst notifying the customer of any delays or issues.
- Making sure that the customer is happy at all times throughout the export shipping process.
- Ensuring that all details entered onto the system are accurate and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that full compliance is maintained throughout the export shipping process.
- Invoicing.
- Provide exceptional customer care to the customer.
Experience and skills required:
- Previous experience of working within ocean freight container exports.
- Excellent customer service skills both written and verbally
- Good organisational skills
- Able to work under pressure and to be able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work within a team and also on your own.
- A knowledge of export compliance and regulations
- Attention to detail and accuracy
