Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Our clients are a well established freight forwarders covering Air, Road and Sea freight operations as well as Warehouse storage and operations and are currently looking for a Warehouse and Logistics manager to oversee Warehouse and Logistics operations.

Purpose of the role

You will oversee operational performance across warehouse facilities, ensuring efficient cargo handling, compliant documentation, and seamless coordination between warehouse, transport, and customs functions.

Duties will include

  • Lead warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring consistent service levels, SOPs, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee receiving, breakdown, build up, storage, and dispatch of air, sea, and road freight cargo.
  • Lead and develop warehouse and logistics teams across both sites, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing levels, shift patterns, training, and performance reviews.
  • Build strong communication channels between warehouse, transport, customs, and operational teams.
  • Ensure correct handling of general cargo, hazardous goods, temperature-controlled shipments, and high-value consignments.
  • Manage inbound and outbound transport planning, including carrier relationships, haulage scheduling, and last-mile delivery coordination.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including IATA DGR, CAA security, HMRC bonded warehouse rules, and health & safety legislation.
  • Maintain compliance with aviation security, bonded warehouse requirements, and industry-specific regulations (e. g., IATA, HMRC, CAA).
  • Monitor KPIs such as cargo throughput, turnaround times, accuracy, and service performance.
  • Work closely with customs teams to support clearances, inspections, and documentation accuracy.
  • Ensure timely movement of cargo between facilities, ports, airports, and customer sites.
  • Optimise freight costs, routing efficiency, and service reliability.

To be successful for the role you will need to have proven experience in warehouse or logistics management within the freight forwarding industry along with a strong understanding of bonded warehouse operations, customs processes, and international freight documentation.

  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9/5.30pm
  • Salary £50k is negotiable depending on experience
