Are you ready to be the heartbeat of our people operations across our Distribution Centres? L'Oréal's Physical Distribution HR team is looking for a driven and people-focused HR Advisor to join us across our Bury, Nottingham and Trafford DC's. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your HR career in a fast-paced, operationally rich environment, where no two days are the same. If you're passionate about doing right by people, thrive on building trusted relationships, and want to make a real difference on the ground — we want to hear from you!
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As our HR Advisor, you'll be right at the centre of our people activity across the Distribution Centres, supporting both managers and employees with pace, confidence, and care. Your day might start with a call from a Team Leader or Supervisor seeking guidance on managing a team member through a disciplinary process — you'll be their go-to, offering clear, pragmatic advice rooted in employment law and L'Oréal best practice. You'll coach and support managers and team leaders through the full spectrum of formal HR processes, from absence and performance management to grievances and investigations, ensuring every case is handled fairly, consistently, and in line with our values.
You'll also own the payroll data cycle for our DC's — extracting, validating, and reconciling payroll information with accuracy and attention to detail, working in close partnership with our Payroll team to ensure our people are paid correctly and on time, every time. You'll be a key liaison between the DC's and payroll, proactively flagging discrepancies and driving continuous improvement in how we manage data flows. Throughout the day, you'll be a visible, trusted presence across the sites — partnering with line managers on day-to-day HR queries, supporting with onboarding, updating organisational data, and contributing to a culture where our people feel heard, valued, and supported. Reporting into HR Business Partner, you'll work as part of a collaborative PD HR team that champions people at every level of the operation.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have proven HR experience, ideally within an operational, logistics, or FMCG environment, with a solid grounding in Employee Relations and formal HR processes.
- You are confident advising managers through complex ER cases — disciplinaries, grievances, absence management — always with empathy and fairness at the forefront.
- You have a keen eye for data and detail, with experience handling payroll data extraction or HR reporting, and the accuracy to match.

- You possess strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet tight payroll deadlines without missing a beat.
- You demonstrate Resilience — you stay calm under pressure, bounce back from challenges, and always bring a solutions-first mindset.
- Your Empathy is genuine — you listen, you understand, and you advocate for a fair and inclusive workplace.
- You show Learning Agility — you're curious, self-motivated, and eager to grow your expertise in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- You are ideally CIPD qualified (Level 3 or above) or working towards an equivalent qualification.
- You're proficient in MS Office, and comfortable working with HR systems and payroll platforms.
