Purpose of Role
The Retail Business Manager (RBM) is a strategic and operational leader for a portfolio of stores and has the primary responsibility to translate the vision of Aesop into a flawless execution on the shop floor. The RBM spends 80% of their time in store building strong teams and relationships and ensures exceptional commercial performance whilst preserving brand culture, customer experience and service excellence. The RBM is an ambassador for Aesop and a role model of excellent leadership behaviours.
Key Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Lead performance: Owns and manages the P&L for their store network.
- Collaborates with Store Managers to develop strategic and tailored annual and quarterly commercial plans for their portfolio of stores.
- Monitors and analyses performance and optimizes KPIs (e.g. NPS, Conversion, UPT, ATV) to drive performance growth.
- Proven experience of successfully leading a team of managers in a customer and sales focused environment using evidence-based performance indicators e.g. retail or hospitality.
- Effectively recruits to the needs of their business.
- Takes ownership for facilitating the onboarding of their direct reports.
- Accomplished at team building, motivation and development.
- Coach and provide feedback on performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead discussions that centre on performance improvement.
- Proactively plans for development and succession.
- Role models the creative art of selling through exceptional conversations, prioritising engaging with customers on the shop floor.
- Possesses a keen interest in Aesop’s categories.
