As part of the CDMO (Chief Digital Marketing Officer) team at L'Oréal UK & Ireland, the CMI (Consumer & Market Insights) team works with all divisions (Consumer Products, Luxe, Active Cosmetics, Professional Products). Their mission is to leverage market and consumer insights to drive sustainable and ethical growth for L'Oréal and its clients, creating a competitive advantage.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Reporting to the Head of Market Insights, the Market Insights Manager is primarily responsible for supporting various business functions (marketing, sales, e-commerce, media, etc.) in managing the performance of categories, competitors, and our brands, and identifying growth opportunities for L'Oréal within the UK market.
- Analysing data from distributor and consumer panels to understand the UK market (group performance, competition, etc.), including key retailers and consumer trends specific to the region.
- Translating data analysis into decision-making tools for teams and top management, developing relevant recommendations and action plans tailored to the UK market.
- Addressing ad-hoc requests by providing detailed analyses that meet the needs of different business functions, acting as a key partner to business teams across the UK.
- Building expertise on data from the UK Health & Beauty market and developing a combination of technical skills and market knowledge specific to the region.
- Demonstrating autonomy in learning methods, data consolidation tools, and dashboarding, with the support of external partners for technical aspects.
- Working on data management and data analytics projects in conjunction with IT teams to ensure optimal UK market coverage and automate analyses.
Key Interactions
- Working closely with UK-based marketing, sales, e-commerce, and media teams, providing daily support in performance management and strategic planning within the UK market.
- Collaborating with Finance and Sales Forecasting teams on the integration of sellâin and sellâout data for the UK.
- Working with L'Oréal's data/IT/analytics teams and serving as the primary contact for various UK market data providers (IRI, Nielsen, etc.); building, managing, challenging, and developing relationships with research institutes relevant to the UK.
WHO YOU ARE
- Strong experience in market research/marketing data analysis in the UK or internationally, within a Marketing Department and/or a Panel Research Institute, with a strong focus on the UK market.
- Expertise in business analytics, combined with a strong understanding of UK sales and marketing practices, as well as experience with strategic brand or product challenges within the UK, are essential assets.
- Strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively lead crossâfunctional teams with enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit.
- Passion for new technologies and data; experience in Data Management (Governance, Leading & Deploying Projects), Data Analytics (Dashboarding, BI, Machine Learning), ideally applied to the UK market context.
