Senior Payroll Specialist (6-9 month FTC)

Working within the Payroll team, you will report into the Payroll Manager and will work be responsible for processing the payroll on a monthly cycle across the UK and Ireland, IOM and Jersey payrolls.

You will be:

  • Working with global managed service provider Strada to process the monthly payroll for 3,000 + employees across UK and Ireland
  • Leading on systems and interfaces issues, working closely with the HRIS team.
  • Ensuring all reporting and compliance duties are completed timely and accurately
  • Liaising with other HR teams to ensure full collaboration and smooth running of the payroll
  • Upskilling, educating and communicating certain processes/procedures to stakeholders i.e. payroll deadlines, new legislation etc.
  • Being a mentor to the team and supporting the Payroll Manager with cross-training
  • Bringing expertise in certain areas of the payroll process, to ensure calculations are applied accurately by the payroll vendor
  • Conduct Monthly Payroll Reconciliation across both UK and Ireland payrolls
  • Working and supporting on process improvements such as DTP’s etc.

You have:

  • End to end payroll processing experience
  • Experience of UK and Irish payrolls, Jersery and IOM is desirable but not essential
  • The ability to deal with payroll queries efficiently with a strong customer mindset
  • Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Ability to manually calculate a payslip
  • Solid understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and statutory requirements in multiple countries
  • Strong knowledge of different payroll systems and software, with expertise in implementing system automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, effectively convey complex payroll concepts to various audiences
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities
