The Chef de Partie at Sea Containers Hotel is a skilled culinary professional responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen. This role involves overseeing the preparation and presentation of dishes, leading a team within the section, and contributing to the overall success of the culinary operations. The role will report directly to the Sous Chef and will have a dotted reporting line to the Head Chef at the location the position is based at.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a designated kitchen section, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Prepare and deliver dishes to agreed recipes and culinary standards
- Supervise, train, and support junior chefs and kitchen assistants
- Monitor food quality through tastings, inspections, and attention to detail
- Collaborate with Sous and Head Chefs on daily planning and menu development
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory control within your section
- Support food cost control and contribute to cost-saving initiatives
- Maintain excellent hygiene, food safety, and health & safety standards
- Work closely with front-of-house teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences
- Engage with guests when required, responding professionally to feedback
About You
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie in a hotel or high-quality restaurant
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Passion for food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Commercial awareness with an eye for cost control
- Able to build strong working relationships across kitchen and service teams
- Experience within luxury or lifestyle hospitality is desirable
