Experienced Practice Nurse in Birmingham

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive registered Nurse to join our team and to support the delivery of high-quality patient care within our busy GP surgery. The successful candidate will be working across our 3 sites with our varied Nursing Team. Primary care experience is essential.

Main duties of the job

• This will be a varied role including nursing clinics.
• Providing an excellent patient service and patient relationship skills, excellent communication skills, a confident manner and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential attributes of any applicants.

• Cervical Screening Qualification
• Chronic Disease Management
• Baby immunisations

Job responsibilities

• Working in accordance with the UKCC Code of Conduct, the post-holder will support and develop the Practice nursing team in the provision of assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.
• The post-holder will agree protocols and guidelines to provide nursing treatments to patients both independently and in participation with nurse colleagues and general practitioners.
• The post-holder will have the required level of training and competence and will work within patient group directions where these are available. A nurse with prescribing qualifications will use them appropriately.
• Identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs across the Practice population.
• Work with others to change policies to improve health and well-being and reduce inequalities.
• Assist with the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice to improve the services offered by the Practice nursing team.
• Assist with management of Chronic Diseases, wound care, health screening, travel health, health screening, immunisations (Adult and Child), Cytology.
• Stock maintenance and ordering.
• Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.

Qualifications required:

• Professional registration with the NMC - Nursing & Midwifery Council.
• Cervical Screening, Chronic Disease Management, Baby Immunisations.

Personal attributes:

• Excellent communication skills, highly motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, attention to detail, team player.

Qualifications

• First level nurse, relevant nursing/health degree. Professional registration with the NMC - Nursing & Midwifery Council.

Experience
