The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

This isn't just about keeping things ticking over. It's about running a tight, efficient operation where stock flows, customers are served quickly, and your team works together safely and effectively every day. Please note that due to the location of the branch you will need your own, reliable transport.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising forklift drivers and yard colleagues to ensure safe, efficient working
  • Coordinating deliveries, unloading and loading with accuracy and pace
  • Making sure stock is stored, racked and handled correctly
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard and warehouse environment
  • Managing forklift checks, maintenance and any breakdown issues
  • Working closely with drivers, the branch team and customers on site
  • Supporting stock control, ordering and reporting low stock
  • Keeping on top of health and safety, PPE and site compliance at all times
  • Opening and closing the site and ensuring security procedures are followed

Experience:

  • Experience in a yard, warehouse or similar supervisory role
  • Background in a builders' merchant or similar environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to organise and motivate a team
  • Solid understanding of warehouse operations and stock control
  • Confident with health and safety and safe working practices
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to support the team
  • Clear communicator who can keep things running smoothly under pressure
