Are you a senior payroll professional who combines technical expertise with a strong controls mindset? We are looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to take ownership of payroll across Head Office and our multiâsite merchanting businesses. This is a key role working closely with the Group Financial Controller, ensuring payroll across the Group is accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
You will play an important part in maintaining strong governance, supporting Finance reporting, and ensuring payroll processes stand up to audit in a growing AIMâlisted business.
What you will be doing:
- Managing the endâtoâend monthly payroll for multiple entities with our outsourced payroll provider
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC, PAYE, NIC, RTI and autoâenrolment requirements
- Processing starters, leavers, pay changes, bonuses, overtime and deductions
- Managing pensions, P11Ds and yearâend processes
- Producing payroll journals, reconciliations and reporting for Finance
- Supporting internal and external audits and maintaining strong financial controls
- Acting as the key point of contact for HR, branch managers, HMRC and pension providers
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a Senior Payroll / Payroll Specialist role
- Experience running payroll in a multiâsite organisation
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and a controlsâfocused mindset
- Strong Excel skills and confidence managing multiple deadlines
Desirable:
- CIPP qualification and experience in retail, distribution, merchanting or other operational businesses
Location: Flexible. As we are a multiâentity business, this role could be based at any one of our main finance hubs â London W5, Chelmsford or Northampton
Hours: 9amâ5.30pm MonâFri
Salary range: ÂŁ50,000âÂŁ55,000 per annum
