We are looking for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join the team at Condell Building Supplies in Horsham. This is a hands-on role in a busy yard where you will play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly - from picking and loading to supporting customers and maintaining a safe, organised environment. As a Forklift Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the day-to-day movement of stock and supporting the wider yard operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operating a counterbalance forklift
  • Picking loads and preparing orders for dispatch
  • Loading and unloading company, customer and supplier vehicles
  • Assisting customers and drivers in the yard
  • Keeping the yard clean, organised and well presented
  • Managing stock rotation and highlighting any issues
  • Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery, reporting defects and safety concerns

Qualifications:

  • Valid counterbalance forklift licence with at least 2 years' experience
  • Experience in a builders' merchant or similar busy yard environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, team-focused approach
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Hours, Holidays & Benefits:

  • Hours: 7am-4.30pm Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm alternate Saturdays
  • Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays
  • Benefits: Discretionary bonus scheme
