Be part of the team. Keep the yard moving. Support our customers. We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join the team at Condell Building Supplies in Horsham. This is a hands-on role in a busy yard where you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly — from picking and loading to supporting customers and maintaining a safe, organised environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Safely operating a counterbalance forklift
- Picking loads and preparing orders for dispatch
- Loading and unloading company, customer and supplier vehicles
- Assisting customers and drivers in the yard
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and well presented
- Managing stock rotation and highlighting any issues
- Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery, reporting defects and safety concerns
What we’re looking for:
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence with at least 2 years’ experience
- Experience in a builders’ merchant or similar busy yard environment
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A proactive, team-focused approach
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- Eligible to work in the UK
Hours: 7am–4.30pm Monday–Friday, 8am–12pm alternate Saturdays
Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays
