We’re looking for an experienced Forklift Truck Driver to join the yard team at our Watford branch. This is a fast‑paced, practical role at the heart of our operation, supporting customers, suppliers and colleagues to keep everything running smoothly. Lords Builders Merchants was established 40 years ago and remains a family‑run business offering a broad range of building materials and extended delivery areas for trade professionals and homeowners across London and the Home Counties.
What you’ll be doing:
- Safely operating a forklift to pick, load and unload vehicles.
- Assisting customers, suppliers and delivery drivers on site.
- Picking orders manually and handling heavy materials where required.
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe, with high standards of presentation.
- Managing stock rotation and highlighting shortages or issues.
- Carrying out daily checks on plant and machinery and reporting defects or H&S concerns.
- Working closely with the wider yard team to maintain an efficient operation.

Requirements:
- Valid forklift licence and experience operating a forklift.
- Previous experience working in a builders’ merchant environment.

- Eligible to work in the UK.
