This is an important role at the centre of the operation - keeping stock moving safely and efficiently, supporting customers and drivers, and helping to maintain high standards across the yard. Responsibilities and duties
- Operating a forklift safely and efficiently around the yard and warehouse
- Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
- Supporting customers collecting materials from the branch
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping and yard organisation standards
- Carrying out routine vehicle and equipment checks
- Assisting with stock control and reporting shortages or damages
- Working closely with the wider branch team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Qualifications
- A valid forklift licence and previous forklift driving experience
- Experience working within a Builders Merchant environment
- Good awareness of health and safety within a busy yard setting
- Reliable and proactive approach to work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good attention to detail and organisation
