Could this be you?

If you believe the little things can make a big difference to a young person’s day, read on.

We are looking for someone who notices what others might miss. Someone who knows the value of a warm welcome, a listening ear and a space where young people feel safe, settled and ready to take on the day. Someone who enjoys being part of school life and helping pupils find their feet.

Because pastoral care is about much more than keeping things running smoothly. It is about building relationships, creating a sense of belonging and helping young people develop the confidence to become themselves. Sometimes, it is the small moments that make the biggest difference.

At Lord Wandsworth College, Hendersons is home to our First and Second Form pupils in Years 7 and 8. It is a place to meet, recharge, find support and navigate the early years of senior school. We want someone who will help make it a welcoming, well-organised space where pupils feel comfortable, supported and encouraged to make the most of school life.

You will be a visible, caring presence throughout the school day, helping pupils settle into routines, keeping an eye on their wellbeing and providing support when they need it. Alongside this, you will help coordinate our co-curricular and character programmes, working with staff and students to keep activities organised, resolve practical challenges and make sure everything runs as it should.

You will join a supportive pastoral team and a school where education deliberately extends far beyond the classroom. From the friendships pupils build to the activities that help them discover new interests and strengths, there is plenty happening beyond lessons. We are looking for someone with the warmth, initiative and organisation to help make those experiences positive and rewarding.

Most of all, we want someone who understands that helping young people feel they belong can make all the difference.
