Complex Engineering & Automation Projects
Location - Warwick - Remote based with UK wide travel
Salary - Up to £78,000 pa + Bonus + Extensive benefits package
Shape the delivery of some of the UK's most complex engineering and automation projects. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of complex, large-scale engineering and automation projects. This is much more than a traditional planning role. We're looking for someone who understands project delivery from the ground up, having previously managed projects or programmes themselves, and who can bring the experience, commercial awareness and confidence to challenge project teams and drive better outcomes.
Working closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, subcontractors and customers, you will take ownership of complex project schedules, providing insight, identifying delivery risks and developing recovery strategies to keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage and analyse detailed project and programme schedules.
- Work closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to monitor progress and delivery commitments.
- Identify schedule risks, critical path issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead schedule recovery planning, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Apply project controls methodologies including Earned Value Management (EVM), Critical Path Analysis and PERT.
- Support project reporting, customer reviews, contractual variations and extension-of-time assessments.
- Challenge assumptions and provide recommendations to improve project performance, resource utilisation and profitability.
- Coach and support Project Managers in scheduling best practice.
What We're Looking For:
- Ideally, you'll have previously worked as a Project Manager, Project Planner, Programme Manager or within a senior Project Control / Planning position.
- Significant experience delivering complex engineering, automation, construction or industrial projects.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale project schedules.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Project Server.
- Experience with EVM, critical path analysis, forecasting and schedule recovery.
- The confidence and communication skills to influence stakeholders and challenge project teams constructively.
- Experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, material handling or manufacturing would be advantageous.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, PMI-SP or APM would also be welcomed.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Join a globally recognised engineering and automation business offering competitive compensation and benefits, career development and opportunities to work within an international environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with substantial project delivery experience who wants to utilise their knowledge in a specialist, influential role without necessarily continuing in a frontline Project Management position.
Interested? If you're an experienced Project Manager, Programme Manager or Project Controls professional with a strong scheduling background, I'd be keen to have a confidential conversation so please apply today with your full CV quoting reference number 10476. All applications will be handled in the strictest confidence.
