Location: North West

The Roles

We are seeking a commercially focused Regional Account Manager to develop and grow customer relationships across the UK trade, distribution and professional sales channels. The role is focused on managing and expanding existing customer relationships while identifying new commercial opportunities across electrical wholesalers, contractors and installers. You will take ownership of the North West territory, developing account plans, identifying opportunities for growth and working with customers to maximise sales, margin and long-term commercial relationships. The successful candidate will combine strong relationship-building skills with a proactive approach to business development and an understanding of how products move through the trade and distribution supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of regional electrical wholesale and distribution customer accounts.
  • Grow sales, margin and customer profitability within the territory.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, contractors, installers and trade customers.
  • Understand customer trading agreements, promotional activity and account plans.
  • Develop territory and account plans to maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product penetration and customer spend.
  • Support customers with product, application and commercial requirements.
  • Work closely with internal sales, marketing and product teams to deliver customer initiatives.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market developments and customer requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular commercial updates.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

Experience Required

  • Experience in sales, account management or BD into Electrical Wholesale or distributor network.
  • Proven track record of growing customer accounts and delivering sales and margin objectives.
  • Experience working with distributors, wholesalers, contractors, installers or trade partners.
  • Good understanding of the trade and distribution supply chain.
  • Commercially confident with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop existing relationships while proactively identifying new opportunities.
  • Good organisation, communication and account-management skills.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience within fire safety, electrical, building products, hardware, DIY, home safety or related consumer/trade products.
  • Existing relationships with UK wholesalers, distributors, contractors or trade customers.
  • Understanding of fire-safety products or related regulations and standards.
  • Experience managing customer promotions, trading agreements and account plans.
