We are working with a long-established advanced materials manufacturer whose products are trusted in some of the most demanding environments on the planet - from defence and security to aerospace, marine and high-performance automotive. This is an opportunity for a hands-on Project Development Engineer to sit at the sharp end of innovation, owning technically complex projects from initial concept through to validated, production-ready solutions.
The Role
You will take full technical ownership of development projects, designing composite and polymer-based solutions that deliver protection and performance in extreme conditions. Working within a specialist project engineering team, you will act as a subject matter expert for defined product ranges and play a visible role in customer and supplier engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading engineering development projects from enquiry response to production
- Developing new products and processes, including de-risking and validation
- Defining and executing internal and external test programmes
- Producing technical reports, proposals and summaries
- Supporting business development through customer visits and technical input
- Acting as a technical interface with suppliers, customers and internal teams
What we are looking for
- Degree qualified in Materials, Mechanical, Aerospace, Composites or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 2 years' relevant industry experience
- Exposure to composite materials and manufacturing environments
- Strong technical writing and reporting capability
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-driven and confident working in regulated, procedure-led environments
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance
