Lead a business protecting people, assets and operations. An established and rapidly growing organisation operating in the industrial safety, monitoring and detection sector is seeking a Business Unit Director to lead the business through its next phase of expansion. The company designs, manufactures and supports safety-critical detection and monitoring solutions used in hazardous and regulated environments where failure is not an option. Its technology protects workforces and infrastructure across a wide range of industrial, manufacturing, energy and process-led sectors.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role offering full P&L ownership, genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape the direction of a technically advanced, high-impact business.
The role: Reporting at board level, you will have end-to-end responsibility for strategy, commercial performance, operations and people. You will lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, manufacturing, service, supply chain and commercial functions, ensuring the business continues to scale while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing a growth strategy across core and emerging markets
- Full ownership of P&L performance, budgeting and forecasting
- Leading operational delivery across manufacturing, service and technical support
- Shaping product and technology direction, including R&D and innovation
- Ensuring ongoing compliance in safety-critical and regulated environments
- Embedding a performance-driven culture focused on quality, safety and continuous improvement
The person: This role will suit a commercially astute, technically credible leader who thrives in regulated, industrial environments.
- Senior leadership experience at Director or General Manager level
- Full P&L accountability within engineered products, instrumentation or industrial technology
- Exposure to safety-critical, detection, sensing or monitoring solutions
