We are supporting a major organisation at the forefront of delivering critical energy infrastructure and innovative offshore projects across the UK. Due to continued investment in a portfolio of nationally significant programmes, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Risk Analyst to join a growing Project Controls function on a contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major infrastructure programme, ensuring robust risk management practices are embedded throughout the project lifecycle and support effective project decision-making.
Working within a high-performing Project Controls team, you will lead and support risk management activities across complex capital and engineering programmes. Your focus will be on identifying, assessing, analysing, and mitigating project risks to support successful project delivery against cost, schedule, and scope objectives.
You will facilitate risk identification workshops and engage with project teams and stakeholders to proactively identify threats and opportunities, whilst developing and maintaining comprehensive project risk registers. You will undertake quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation techniques and apply advanced methodologies such as Reference Class Forecasting to support robust project forecasting and decision-making.
The role will also involve developing effective risk response and mitigation strategies, monitoring project risks, and providing meaningful analysis and reporting to project leadership teams. You will create and maintain risk dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel, helping to drive a proactive risk management culture across the programme.
You will possess significant experience in Project Risk Management within a Project Controls environment, ideally gained on major infrastructure, utilities, energy, transportation, construction, or engineering projects. You will have a strong understanding of project risk management principles, governance frameworks, and industry best practice, alongside demonstrable experience conducting quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis.
Hands-on experience of Monte Carlo simulation techniques is essential, together with knowledge of Reference Class Forecasting and other advanced risk assessment methodologies. Experience using industry-standard risk management software such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Palisade @RISK, Safran Risk, or similar is required, along with strong analytical capabilities and advanced Excel skills. Experience developing dashboards and reporting in Power BI would be highly advantageous.
You will be a confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, capable of facilitating workshops, influencing project teams, and presenting risk-based insights to senior leadership. Professional certifications such as APM Project Risk Management, PMI-RMP, or Management of Risk (M_o_R) Foundation/Practitioner are desirable.
