We are partnering with a long-established and highly respected organisation based near Cheltenham, seeking a talented Buyer to join their growing procurement function. This is a high-impact role that offers real autonomy, variety and the chance to shape the future of the supply chain.

The role:

  • As a Buyer you'll be taking the lead on sourcing, negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
  • You'll be instrumental in ensuring smooth, cost-effective purchasing processes and supporting new product development through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • You'll be a go-to person within the team - from contract management and cost analysis to risk mitigation and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage end-to-end procurement of materials, components and services.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and contract terms with both new and existing suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity and performance.
  • Support product development by identifying and onboarding new suppliers.
  • Conduct cost and supply chain analysis, driving continuous improvements.
  • Monitor PPV and other KPIs to deliver on commercial targets.
  • Work across departments to align procurement activity with broader business goals.
  • Champion best practices and help evolve procurement strategy alongside leadership.

The person:

  • Previous experience in a buying or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Solid analytical abilities and comfort with data and reporting tools.
  • ERP/MRP system proficiency (any system considered).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, methodical, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strategic sourcing background.
