Leading Voice & Network Engineering Within a Leading IT / Cloud Services MSP Environment
Β£45,000-Β£50,000 p.a. + On-Call & Paid OT + Strong Package
Are you a 2nd/3rd Line Voice & Network Engineer looking for more variety and responsibility? Want to work across VoIP, networking, connectivity, security, site design, installations and Cyber Essentials rather than being tied to a service desk? This could be an excellent next move.
An established and growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) is looking for a Senior Voice & Network Engineer to become a key technical specialist within its team.
The Role
This is a genuinely varied, hands-on position covering 2nd and 3rd line support, technical projects and client-facing engineering. You'll work across:
- Hosted voice and VoIP solutions
- Network design, connectivity and security
- Site surveys, installations and configuration
- SBCs and carrier integrations
- Complex fault finding and root-cause analysis
- Cyber Essentials assessments
- Technical pre-sales and solution design
- New technology and vendor evaluation
- Technologies including Gamma iPECS Cloud, Wildix/x-bees, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti UniFi, SBCs and Colt connectivity.
Voice & Networking
- You'll need strong practical knowledge of; SIP | RTP | Codecs | QoS | NAT | Routing | Switching | VLANs | Firewalls | Wi-Fi
- You'll also be comfortable using Wireshark or similar to get to the root cause of complex voice and network issues.
- You'll be involved from the beginning-surveying sites, designing solutions, installing and configuring equipment and providing ongoing support.
Cyber Security
A major part of the role will be becoming a Cyber Essentials assessor, carrying out assessments for clients as part of an accredited Certification Body.
Already qualified - Great! Not yet qualified? The company will fund the training and certification. There is also a progression route towards Cyber Essentials Plus.
Who Are We Looking For?
You'll ideally have:
- 2nd/3rd Line Voice & Network experience within an MSP, telco or communications environment
- Strong networking knowledge across routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls and Wi-Fi
- Hands-on hosted voice/VoIP experience
- Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, codecs, QoS and NAT
- Site survey and installation experience
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience with SBCs, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, Wildix, Gamma iPECS, CCNA, SD-WAN/SASE or pre-sales would be advantageous.
- Can manage their own workload and see issues through.
- Can talk technical with engineers and explain the same issue clearly to clients.
This isn't a fully remote, desk-only engineering role. You'll be based in the office with national client travel, giving you genuine variety in your week.
Interested?
If you're an experienced Voice & Network Engineer who wants to broaden your technical skillset and become a genuine specialist across voice, networking and cyber security, I'd like to hear from you.
