We are currently working in partnership with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial professional services business with a strong national presence and ambitious plans for further expansion. Having already achieved significant organic growth, the business is now entering an important stage in its development, with further acquisitions and potential future Private Equity investment forming part of its strategy. Operating in a dynamic and commercially focused environment, they are now seeking an experienced and "hands-on" CFO to help support the next phase of growth and strengthen the financial infrastructure of the business.
Working closely with the CEO, shareholders and senior leadership team, the CFO will play a key role in shaping and supporting the future development of the business. The role will combine strategic and commercial finance with a "hands-on" remit across management information, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, controls and finance team development. A key focus will be preparing the business for potential future investment, while also supporting the development of an M&A and buy-and-build strategy, including financial modelling, acquisition appraisal, due diligence and post-deal integration. The CFO will also be responsible for improving financial insight, systems and reporting, ensuring the business has the infrastructure and capability required to support continued growth.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant senior finance leadership experience gained within a growing, entrepreneurial organisation. Experience within Professional Services or another people-led business would be particularly relevant, ideally alongside exposure to Private Equity, corporate transactions or M&A. You will bring strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to improve management information, forecasting and financial decision-making, while remaining comfortable getting into the detail when required. Credible with shareholders, investors and advisers, you will combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic, "hands-on" approach and the ability to develop both the finance function and wider business.
