Lead Buyer

Are you a hands-on Senior Buyer ready to make an impact? Our client, a leading manufacturing business operating in the automotive, aerospace, and industrial sectors, is looking for a proactive professional to review, refine, and optimise their purchasing strategy.

The role:

You’ll take ownership of procurement across both the direct and indirect categories. Think raw materials, components and utilities – driving cost-saving initiatives and ensuring a robust, dual-sourced supply chain .

Duties include:

• Reviewing current processes and identifying improvements
• Supplier profiling – assessing and onboarding the best partners
• Negotiating smarter deals to cut costs without compromising quality
• Exploring dual sourcing to de-risk supply chains
• Collaborating with stakeholders to align procurement with business goals

The person:

• Manufacturing sector experience (automotive, aerospace, industrial preferred)
• A hands-on, strategic thinker who’s not afraid to get stuck in
• Strong negotiation skills with a cost-conscious mindset
• Proven ability to improve procurement processes and drive efficiencies
• CIPS Qualification or similar would be advantageous but not essential
