We’re looking for an ambitious Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support our expanding project portfolio across Oxfordshire/Hertfordshire areas. The Role: As an Intermediate QS at Lorclon, you’ll play a key role in the commercial management of our projects — from cost planning to final accounts — while gaining hands-on experience with NEC contracts and civil engineering works.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Supporting tendering, procurement, and subcontractor management
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimating, and cash flow forecasting
- Undertake measurement and valuation of work in progress, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Preparing and valuing variations, claims, and change control
- Undertaking regular site visits and liaising with engineers and site teams
- Monitoring project progress and highlighting cost-related risks
- Maintain accurate records and reporting of project costs, forecasts, and performance
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, specifically in civil engineering projects
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline
- Proven experience working with NEC contracts preferable
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel)
- A proactive, team-focused mindset
