We're partnering with a global organisation that's making significant investment in its data capabilities and is looking to appoint a Data Governance Analyst to help shape and mature its enterprise data governance function.

This is an opportunity to join a business that sees data as a strategic asset. You'll play a key role in building a trusted, well-governed data estate that enables better decision-making, supports advanced analytics and AI initiatives, and promotes a strong data-led culture across the organisation.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a growing Data Governance team, you'll help establish and embed data governance practices across multiple business domains. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure data is well-defined, trusted, governed and consistently managed throughout its lifecycle.

You'll be responsible for maintaining governance artefacts such as metadata, business glossaries, data dictionaries and lineage, while supporting governance forums, improving data quality processes and helping drive adoption of governance standards across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move beyond traditional data analysis into a role where they can influence how an enterprise manages and governs its data.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the implementation and continual improvement of enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Maintaining metadata, business glossaries, data dictionaries and data lineage.
  • Working with Data Owners, Data Stewards and Engineering teams to improve governance processes.
  • Defining business terms, critical data elements and ownership across multiple business domains.
  • Supporting data quality initiatives, governance reporting and compliance activities.
  • Helping manage data issues, risks and governance actions through to resolution.
  • Promoting data governance best practices across business and technology teams.
  • Supporting governance tooling and helping drive continuous improvements to governance processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working within Data Governance, Data Management or Data Quality.
  • Knowledge of metadata management, business glossaries and data dictionaries.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, policies and controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong Excel capabilities.
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • Exposure to governance tooling such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation or similar would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps would be advantageous.
  • Experience within Financial Services, Insurance or other regulated industries would be beneficial but isn't essential.
