Loom Talent are delighted to be partnering with a leader in contract logistics on the recruitment of a Transport Manager for their DC in Feltham. In the role of Transport Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the transport department, including the safe and efficient delivery of customers' goods with the aim of enhancing service, fleet efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and oversee the running of the transport department at site.
- Support the route planning function utilising TMS and ensuring routes planned are within weight limit and time constraints.
- Ensure all deliveries have completed POD and any discrepancies are investigated.
- Manage relationship with vehicle contractors to ensure smooth running of operation and vehicle downtime is minimised.
- Maintain communication between the distribution and warehouse teams and wider business to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
The successful candidate for the Transport Manager position will possess:
- A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential.
- 3+ years Transport management experience within a Food / FMCG / Contract Logistics - Essential.
