About the Role:
Loom Talent Limited are working with a leading 3PL logistics provider based in Leicestershire, who are looking to add a talented and proactive Transport Manager – Dual Site to their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional who is passionate about logistics and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This role works closely with internal teams including Inbound Administration, Warehouse Operations, Customer Service, and external Transport partners to ensure efficient planning, strong service levels, cost control, and compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Transport & Carrier Management
Manage and develop strong working relationships with third-party carriers and transport partners.
Ensure transport capacity is aligned with operational demand across all sites.
Monitor carrier performance against agreed KPIs, service levels, and contractual terms.
Lead regular performance reviews with carriers, addressing service failures and driving continuous improvement.
Manage transport-related non-conformance\’s, investigations, and corrective actions.
Operational & Planning Support
Work closely with Inbound Administrators and site teams to ensure inbound and outbound transport is planned and executed efficiently.
Support the coordination of inbound deliveries to ensure smooth site operations and resource planning.
Ensure transport plans align with warehouse capacity, labour availability, and customer requirements.
Escalate and resolve transport issues that may impact service, cost, or safety.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all transport operations comply with legal, company, and site-specific health and safety requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture with internal teams and third-party carriers.
Support business-wide H&S initiatives and ensure drivers comply with site rules and regulations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation and accreditation standards.
Customer Service & Quality
Ensure transport service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
Support the timely and accurate resolution of transport-related customer issues.
Ensure all transport activity is accurately recorded for traceability, reporting, and audit purposes.
Contribute to maintaining and improving quality standards and accreditation\’s.
Cost Control & Performance
Manage transport costs effectively, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
Ensure costs associated with transport failures, delays, or supplier issues are captured and reported.
Support budget management and forecasting related to transport activity.
Knowledge & Experience
Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport role.
Strong background managing third-party carriers within a logistics, contract packing, or FMCG environment.
Experience working closely with warehouse and inbound logistics operations. xiskglj
