The Stock Control First Line Manager (4 on 4 Off) Night Shift will play a critical role in leading all activity across the operation within their field. This position is a truly exciting opportunity, with lots of autonomy for an experienced logistics & supply chain professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organisation. This role will suit an experienced and driven Stock Control First Line Manager to join our client's growing management team.
This is a key hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all stock and inventory activities across the business while supporting operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with teams across all departments and will play a vital role in maintaining stock integrity, improving warehouse utilisation, and delivering accurate inventory reporting and analysis.
This role requires a proactive leader with strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics and contract packing environment.
Core Aspects of the Role:
- Inventory & Stock Management: Manage all stock and inventory activities across the business. Ensure stock accuracy across Logistics and Contract Packing operations. Lead and manage stock counts, audits, perpetual inventory checks, and investigations. Ensure all stock adjustments are accurate, auditable, and completed in line with company processes. Investigate stock discrepancies, operational issues, and process failures impacting inventory accuracy.
- Warehouse & Storage Optimisation: Forecast and manage storage capacity requirements across multiple sites. Work closely with Operational teams to support layout changes and storage strategy. Analyse warehouse layouts, inventory flow, SKU demand, and storage utilisation to identify improvement opportunities. Implement optimised warehouse layouts, slotting strategies, and material handling pathways. Support Lean, 5S, and Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reporting & Data Analysis: Produce accurate management reports, KPIs, and inventory analysis. Deliver insights and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team. Use WMS systems and Microsoft tools to interrogate data and drive operational improvements.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, train, and support team members in best practices and new processes. Ensure the right people, processes, and equipment are in place to achieve operational objectives. Promote a positive, accountable, and solutions-focused culture.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have the following skills & experiences:
- A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential.
- 5+ Years proven Logistics & Supply Chain Supervisory or Management experience across Operations - Essential.
- 3PL Warehouse experience - Advantageous.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams - Essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach - Essential.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and stock transactions - Essential.
- Knowledge of warehouse optimisation, customer onboarding/exits, and space planning - Essential.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Visio - Essential.
- Warehouse, Manufacturing, or Degree-level qualifications - Advantageous.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills - Essential.

Salary & Benefits Package: Salary - £38,000 to £39,500 (DOE) Plus additional company benefits.
