This Warehouse Operations Manager opportunity is with a well-established distribution business based in Sheffield, looking to strengthen its operational excellence capability through the appointment of a commercially minded leader with a passion for Continuous Improvement and project delivery.
The business is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager who can look beyond the day-to-day operation, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and service while leading key operational projects across the site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys challenging existing processes, implementing change and delivering measurable operational improvements.
Working closely with the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain function, you will partner with operational leadership teams to drive best practice, improve customer outcomes and support the site's continued growth.
Key responsibilities:- Leading Continuous Improvement initiatives across warehouse operations to improve productivity, quality and service
- Managing operational projects from concept through to implementation and successful delivery
- Identifying process improvement opportunities through data analysis and operational performance reviews
- Working alongside warehouse leadership teams to embed best practice and standard operating procedures
- Driving improvements across labour productivity, warehouse layouts, stock accuracy and operational flow
- Leading cross-functional projects with transport and wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams
- Supporting systems improvements, operational change programmes and process optimisation initiatives
- Monitoring KPIs to ensure Continuous Improvement projects deliver measurable operational benefits
- Coaching and supporting operational teams to build a culture of continuous improvement across the site
- Proven experience operating as a Warehouse Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager or similar leadership role within warehousing or distribution
- Demonstrable experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and operational projects
- Background within retail, e-commerce, manufacturing or third-party logistics operations
- Experience using Lean, Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodologies would be highly advantageous
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and implement practical solutions
- Experience working within a Logistics distribution and supply chain environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and lead change across multiple departments
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement
